International Yoga Day Celebrated in Narasaraopeta Engineering College

As Prime Minister Narendra Modi kicked started the fifth International Yoga day at Prabhat Tara ground, in Ranchi, Jharkhand, here at Narasaraopet, Guntur district, Narasaraopeta Engineering Colleg celebrated the event with much serenity and jubilation in association with The New Indian Express.

Over a hundred students and faculty participated in the event and practised the ancient art.

For teaching Yoga to the participants, renowned yoga guru Kunisetty Venakata Janardhan came to the college as a guest of honour. Guruji enlightened students about the ancient roots o yoga, which lets a person unite with his mind, body and soul. He shed light on “how Yoga plays an important role in our daily lifestyle. And how it improves health by increasing blood flow and strengthening immunity.

How NEC students are inculcating yoga in day to day life

Speaking on the occasion, principal Dr M Sreenivasa Kumar highlighted that “An increasing number of NEC students have made yoga compulsory in their academic schedule”

He said, ” Yoga is highly beneficial to college students as it helps to bust stress and bring tranquillity. When yoga is incorporated in everyday life it brings in a surge in energy and mental balance.

“With Yoga now, internationally recognised as an ingenious tool to build physical fitness and functioning state of mind, it will our loss if we don’t include this ancient practice in our curriculum”, he added.

Fact: Yoga originated in India in 3000 B.C. Stone-carved images of yoga postures can be found in the Indus Valley depicting the poses and mudras.
